What is a psychometrist?

Psychometrists are trained to administer assessments as part of an evaluation. They serve a critical role by providing carefully standardized administration, close observation of the client, and detailed notes to the assessor. The collaboration and trust between assessor and psychometrist ensures that clients receive high quality care and accurate diagnosis.

  • Test administration of 4 hours, 1-3 times a month in Bellevue, with additional set-up and scoring time

    Adherence to standardized test administration

    Provide mental status overview

    Take detailed notes on client behavior and reflections to testing

    Complete scoring of administered assessments using online scoring platforms or paper records

    Data transfer from results to results spreadsheet

    Set-up and take-down of materials for testing

    Professionalism and timeliness in communication

    Maintain clinical documentation related to testing appointments in timely manner

    Meetings with assessor to discuss test administration and collaborate

    Adherence to laws, rules, regulations, and code of ethics

    Able to commit to at least 9 months in the position

  • Coursework or experience in psychological assessment.

    Familiarity with administering standardized assessments (such as WAIS-IV, DKEFS, RIAS-2, etc)

    Strong clinical skills in developing rapport and providing crisis intervention with clients

    Strong desire to learn and engagement in critical self-reflection

    Close attention to detail, ability to juggle multiple demands at once, including time demands

    Ability to make decisions in the moment

    Reliable and private access to phone, computer, and internet

    Previous HIPAA-training or work in HIPAA settings

  • Paid initial training time once hired: $20/hour

    Flat fee rate of $180 per administration ($30-36/hr, assuming 5-6 hours total per administration, including scoring, data input, and note-writing)

    • Maintain clinical caseload of at least 20 clinical hours per week.

    • Weekly supervision with Dr Diana Hu to accrue postdoc hours

    • Completion of doctoral program in clinical or counseling psychology
